JJ Hegna is a former U.S. Army Captain and the son of Tom Hegna, the world's leading retirement expert and educator. Born and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona, JJ earned his B.S. in Finance and Economics on an Army ROTC scholarship before serving as a commissioned officer in the United States Army.

After his military service, JJ turned to the financial services industry, where he studied how Americans can retire optimally based on math, science, and economic facts. Today, he finds his greatest reward in helping people bring clarity to their retirement.

JJ lives with his wife, Holly.
